北大老圖書(shū)館在哪里 考研,可以進(jìn)北大圖書(shū)館對(duì)外開(kāi)放嗎

北京大學(xué)圖書(shū)館是亞洲最大的大學(xué)圖書(shū)館，目前藏書(shū)1046萬(wàn)冊(cè)，電子圖書(shū)和期刊7億多冊(cè)，居中國(guó)高校圖書(shū)和電子期刊數(shù)量之首。北京大學(xué)圖書(shū)館是大學(xué)圖書(shū)館歷史最悠久的圖書(shū)館；

說(shuō)到藏書(shū)的數(shù)量，恐怕除了國(guó)家圖書(shū)館外，沒(méi)有其他地方可以與北京大學(xué)相比。至于那些投資多少錢(qián)建設(shè)的圖書(shū)館，你可以夸耀。別當(dāng)真。真正優(yōu)秀的圖書(shū)館一代又一代地積累著書(shū)籍。許多好書(shū)根本不是用錢(qián)*來(lái)的。例如，蒲松齡的《聊齋志異》手稿在遼寧省圖書(shū)館，世界上只有一本。沒(méi)有其他圖書(shū)館能用更多的錢(qián)*到它。安徽師范大學(xué)圖書(shū)館的《洪武正云》也是中國(guó)唯一完整的圖書(shū)；

相比之下，一般國(guó)家重點(diǎn)大學(xué)的圖書(shū)館大約有200萬(wàn)冊(cè)圖書(shū)，如果超過(guò)300萬(wàn)冊(cè)，那就相當(dāng)富有了！

中國(guó)人民大學(xué)圖書(shū)館共藏書(shū)389萬(wàn)6000冊(cè)。

清華大學(xué)圖書(shū)館總藏書(shū)量約396萬(wàn)冊(cè)（2010年）

書(shū)的數(shù)量只是一個(gè)方面。關(guān)鍵是要好好利用這些寶貴的資源，學(xué)以致用，造福社會(huì)，這是最重要的。否則，就不會(huì)浪費(fèi)多少書(shū)，這只能說(shuō)是浪費(fèi)社會(huì)資源！

可以進(jìn)，是對(duì)外開(kāi)放的。
北大圖書(shū)館是非常開(kāi)放的場(chǎng)所，志愿者們?cè)诒Ｗo(hù)藏書(shū)的同時(shí)，也致力于幫助非北京大學(xué)的人士大量閱讀它的收藏。自1987年起，北京大學(xué)圖書(shū)館對(duì)公眾開(kāi)放，歡迎人士到館內(nèi)閱讀藏書(shū)并利用該機(jī)構(gòu)的資料。開(kāi)放時(shí)間是星期一至星期五：上午8:00-22:00，星期六、日：上午8:00-17:00。

我對(duì)北大圖書(shū)館有一種特殊的感情，這種感情潛伏在我的內(nèi)心深處，從來(lái)沒(méi)有明確地意識(shí)到過(guò)。最近圖書(shū)館的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)同志要我寫(xiě)一篇講圖書(shū)館的文章，我連考慮都沒(méi)有，立即一口答應(yīng)。但我立刻感到有點(diǎn)吃驚。我現(xiàn)在事情還是非常多的，抽點(diǎn)時(shí)間，并非易事。為什么竟立即答應(yīng)下來(lái)了呢?如果不是心中早就蘊(yùn)藏著這樣一種感情的話，能出現(xiàn)這種情況嗎?

I cherish a particular affection for Peking University Library—an affection that has hidden deep in my heart without my knowledge. Therefore, recently when the curator asked me to write an article on the library, I readily agreed without any hesitation. Nevertheless, immediately afterwards, I felt a bit surprised at the rash promise I had made, for, with already too many irons in the fire, I could hardly have time to spare. What had made me give the promise? Could I have done that had it not been for my deep-seated affection for the University library?

4，“為什么竟立即答應(yīng)下來(lái)了呢?”意即“是什么驅(qū)使我答應(yīng)下來(lái)了呢”譯為What had made me give the promise?

5，“如果不是心中早就蘊(yùn)藏著這樣一種感情的話，能出現(xiàn)這種情況嗎”譯為Could I have done that had it not been for my deep-seated affection for the University library?注意本句中包含虛擬語(yǔ)氣的疑問(wèn)句，其中had it not been for 為if it had not been for 的省略形式

樹(shù)有根，水有源，我這種感情的根源由來(lái)已久了。

Every tree has its roots and every river its source. My deep affection for the University library has an origin of long standing.

In 1946, I returned to China after staying Europe for about eleven years. When I arrived in Peiping, it was late autumn, with Chang’an Street strewn with fallen leaves. My first days at Peking University found me experiencing an indescribable mixed feeling of both elation and loneliness, and both joy and gloom. Fortunately, I soon found a place where I could settle down to a tranquil life and get on with my work, that is, Peking University Library. At that time, I lived alone at the Red Building and my office, the office of the Oriental Languages Department, was in the Gray Building. And the University library was situated in-between.

承當(dāng)時(shí)圖書(shū)館的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)特別垂青，在圖書(shū)館里給了一研究室，在樓下左側(cè)。窗外是到 灰樓去的必由之路，經(jīng)常有人走過(guò)，不能說(shuō)是很清靜。但是在圖書(shū)館這一面，卻是清靜異常。我的研究室左右，也都是教授研究室，當(dāng)然室各有主，但是頗少見(jiàn)人 來(lái)，所以走廊里靜如古寺，真是念書(shū)寫(xiě)作的好地方。我能在奔波數(shù)萬(wàn)里、擾攘十幾年，有時(shí)夢(mèng)想得到一張一尺見(jiàn)方的書(shū)桌而渺不可得的情況下，居然有了一間窗明幾 凈的研究室，簡(jiǎn)直如坐天堂，如享天福了。

Thanks to the thoughtfulness of the curator, I was allotted a research room in the library, on the left side of its ground floor. It was a bit noisy out of the window due to a passage alongside the building, which was the only leading to the Gray Building. But it was very quiet in the library itself though. Around me were also research rooms belonging to other professors, but I seldom saw them. So it was all quiet in the corridor, like in an ancient temple. It was an ideal place for doing studies and writing indeed. Imagine how overwhelmed with joy I was to have a bright research room complete with a desk after spending more than a decade rushing about form place to place sometimes with the vain dream of getting a mere *all desk of my own!

研究室的真正在害還不在窗明幾凈——當(dāng)然，這也是必要的——而在有沒(méi)有足夠的書(shū)。在這 一點(diǎn)上，我也得到了意外的滿足。圖書(shū)館的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)允許我從書(shū)庫(kù)里提一部分必要的書(shū)，放在我的研究室里，供隨時(shí)查用。

To me, however, what really mattered in a research room were not bright windows and clean desks, which were of course also indispensable, but sufficient books. Now I had my wish unexpectedly gratified. I was given permission from the curator to equip my research room with necessary books for easy reference taken direct from the stack rooms.

In spite of that, I would withdraw at the first opportunity to my research room to enjoy the privacy of having a place all to myself, a place where I was my own master. As soon as I entered the room, I began to live my part as an avid reader sitting among a roomful of books. The great pleasure I enjoyed at the moment was beyond description.

5，“我一進(jìn)屋，就能進(jìn)入角色，潛心默讀，坐擁書(shū)城，”譯為As soon as I entered the room, I began to live my part as an avid reader sitting among a roomful of books，其中把“進(jìn)入角色”譯為to live my part，這是英語(yǔ)成語(yǔ)，意為“淋漓盡致地扮演一種角色”，注意本句也是意思整合之后譯

6，“不足為外人道”意即“無(wú)法用語(yǔ)言形容”，譯為beyond description

我回國(guó)以后，由于資料缺乏，在國(guó)外時(shí)的研究工作，無(wú)法進(jìn)行，只能有多大碗，吃多少飯，找一些可以發(fā)揮自己的長(zhǎng)處 而又有利于國(guó)計(jì)民生的題目，來(lái)進(jìn)行研究。北大圖書(shū)館藏書(shū)甲全國(guó)大學(xué)，我需要的資料基本上能找得到，因此還能夠?qū)懗鲆恍〇|西來(lái)。如果換一個(gè)地方，我必如車(chē)轍 中的鮒魚(yú)那樣，什么書(shū)也看不到，什么文章也寫(xiě)不出。

Upon my return to China, I had to discontinue, for lack of reference materials, the research I had been doing abroad. I had to adapt to the new circumstances by working only on themes most familiar to me and having direct bearing on national economy and the people’s livelihood. As Peking University Library boasted the largest collection of books of all university libraries in the country, I was able to write with materials available to me. Otherwise, with no access to books I needed, I would have accomplished nothing at all, like a fish stranded in a dry rut.

As one of the highest institutes of learning in the country, Peking University has a long history of revolutionary patrioti* as well as an academic tradition of seeking truth from facts. All that is praise-worthy. However, in my opinion, a first rate university should have facilities, library, teaching staff, scholars and administration of the best quality. Peking University certainly meets the requirement in the five respects. We of this University are, therefore, fully qualified for the job of carrying forward the splendid cultural heritage of our nation and training people of ability and virtue for our country’s modernization drive, thereby winning honor for our country and rendering meritorious service to our people. Our library, in particular, is playing an important role. We are proud and happy that I has been generally acknowledged as the best university library in the country.

Nevertheless, we teachers, students and all employees should not be satisfied with the success we have already won. We should study and work hard and cherish, as we do our eyes, our university and everything in it, including its library. We should treasure its rich collection and take good care of each and every copy of the books therein, so that it can long survive intact and forever remain as something for us to be proud of and happy about. Let us encourage each other in our common endeavors.
